Practical Intervention Addresses Depression in Cancer Patients

Nurses with no previous psychiatric experience can deliver a cost-effective collaborative intervention to cancer patients, researchers show. Depression, which is frequently undetected in cancer patients, can severely impair quality of life. In a report published in the July 5 issue of the Lancet, investigators assessed the efficacy of an intervention designed to treat major depressive disorders in cancer patients
