NCOA Report on Strategies for Extra Help Outreach and Assistance
NCOA's report, Community Solutions: Lessons Learned from the My Medicare Matters Low-Income Subsidy Demonstration Program describes results of a national demonstration program conducted in 2007 and 2008 where local/state organizations reached out to Medicare beneficiaries with limited income and resources and assisted them with applying for the Low-Income Subsidy (LIS) and other related benefits. There is a wealth of information and data about outreach and enrollment assistance in this report about the grantee strategies as well as lessons learned, related to the approaches they used. A toolkit is coming soon.
