In September, the Administration on Aging alerted you to a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding opportunity provided by the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009 to support the development of partnerships between academic research centers and community-based organizations.The NIH Office of the Director will host two pre-application technical assistance workshops (to be videocast live) for NIH RFA -OD-09-010, Building Sustainable Community-Linked Infrastructure to Enable Health Science Research. The purpose of the informational meeting is to provide technical assistance on and answer questions related to the preparation of applications in response to RFA-OD-09-010.
Online participants may submit questions to sheurtin@mail.nih.gov with the word "Question-NIH CRI RFA-09-010 wkshkp." Please frame questions clearly, specifically and concisely, in no more than 4 sentences.

All researchers, community members and other persons interested in submitting an application in response to this "Grand Opportunities" RFA are strongly encouraged to attend the technical assistance meeting either in person or online.
The workshops/videocasts will be held Friday, October 23rd at
* 10:30 am-1:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT),
* And 2:00-4:30 pm (EDT).

To participate in person you must indicate your request in your registration email (format is described below )
The workshop will be held on the NIH main campus in Bethesda, MD in Bldg 45, The Natcher Center, Balcony A.
To enter the NIH campus you will need to have a government-issued ID (e.g. driver's license or passport) and enter through the NIH Visitors Center.
Note: There is capacity for only 70 participants in Balcony A of Bldg 45. In-person participation will be allowed only for the first 70 requests for in-person attendance received through email registration.

Pre-registration for this event is required. Please read instructions carefully. Failure to follow these instructions will keep your registration from being processed. Meeting attendees are encouraged to register for the meeting at their earliest opportunity. Registration deadline is October 22, 2009.
