The Centenarian Bounty is the award made by the President of Ireland to people living in Ireland who have reached the age of 100 years. The eligibility criteria for the Centenarian Bounty extend to include centenarians who are Irish citizens born in the island of Ireland and are resident outside the State.

The following supporting documentation is required to confirm the age, identity, place of birth and Irish citizenship of the applicant:

Applicant’s civil birth certificate and/or Irish passport. In cases where an applicant’s surname is different from applicant’s name at birth, please provide a copy of marriage certificate or other documents;

Two recent proofs of identity (such as photo i.d. and/or copies of official correspondence addressed to applicant e.g. regarding pension, utility bills, or nursing home paperwork etc.)

Officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs may seek additional material in order to confirm an applicant’s details and will be happy to discuss with applicants, or their representatives, the type of material that will meet the requirement for supporting documentation.
