As I've said, my preference is to make Social Security more, rather than less, generous. There are a lot of areas in which the federal government should be spending a lot less -- but I don't think Social Security is one of them. Still, Social Security reform is likely to be a big issue in the fall, and so it's worth getting a sense of the wide range of potential changes available.
