Some recent rule changes have made it difficult to apply. So what does the rule change mean for individuals approaching Social Security eligibility, or those who have already claimed? If you filed your benefit within the past 12 months, you should review your benefit election with a qualified financial professional, because you may still have some time to repair it. And, if you’re about to file make sure you evaluate your benefit election options methodically and carefully. Because, if you make a mistake, or your financial picture changes, you will have only 12 months in which to fix it.
