In More States, Hospitals Stop Billing for Egregious Errors

Hospital across the country are deciding not to bill patients or insurers for the worst sorts of medical errors.
Hospital groups in 23 states now have policies against billing for errors such as operating on the wrong body part or giving the patient the wrong blood type — that’s up from 11 states in February of this year, MSNBC reports. Groups in at least three more states are expected to have similar policies in place in the next few months.
