Revision of State Plan for Assistive Technology
Section 4 of the Assistive Technology Act of 1998, as amended, requires States to submit an application in order to receive funds under the State Grant for Assistive Technology Program. This information collection will be used by States to meet their application requirements. The Rehabilitation Services Administration calls this application a State Plan for Assistive Technology.

Veterans' Advisory Committee on Rehabilitation
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) gives notice under Public Law 92-463 (Federal Advisory Committee Act) that a meeting of the Veterans' Advisory Committee on Rehabilitation will be held on October 15-16, 2008, at the Paralyzed Veterans of American Building, 801 18th Street, NW., Washington, DC. The meeting sessions will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 15 and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 16. The meeting is open to the public.

Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Prospective Payment System for Federal Fiscal Year 2009; Final Rule
This final rule updates the prospective payment rates for inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs) for Federal fiscal year (FY) 2009 (for discharges occurring on or after October 1, 2008 and on or before September 30, 2009) as required under section 1886(j)(3)(C) of the Social Security Act (the Act). Section 1886(j)(5) of the Act requires the Secretary to publish in the Federal Register on or before the August 1 that precedes the start of each fiscal year, the classification and weighting factors for the IRF prospective payment system's (PPS) case-mix groups and a description of the methodology and data used in computing the prospective payment rates for that fiscal year.
We are revising existing policies regarding the PPS within the authority granted under section 1886(j) of the Act.
DATES: These regulations are effective October 1, 2008. The updated IRF prospective payment rates are applicable for discharges on or after October 1, 2008 and on or before September 30, 2009 (FY 2009).
